First off, everything’s ok!
Unfortunately due to adverse weather our flight got diverted to Novosibirsk (Russia!). There aren’t a lot of outbound flights, so we have decided to make alternate arrangements. We are still sorting out details, but the plan is now to go to Tunguska, which is a site of significant historical and scientific note.
In 1908, an extremely large explosion, generally believed to be from a meteorite hitting the Earth’s atmosphere, occurred over Siberia. Shockwaves were registered in Europe and possibly as far as Washington DC. Fortunately, due to the isolation of the area hit, no one was killed. It remains a site of astrogeological interest due to the mineral deposits and landscape created.
It’s definitely an unusual place to visit and one very different than the one we intended (Tokyo / Japan!)- however making the best of a not great situation. It’s beautiful out here and really adding a space-science aspect to our trip.
More to follow once we get to the next WiFi source (via reindeer/helicopter!)

Do you not think it is a better idea to resume Japan no matter what?
Anyway, let me know Michele and Roman if there is anything I can do from here.
Bit worried that you've been taken off the track and in unchartered areas from the planned trip.
Shouldn't the diversion be the responsibility of the concerned authority/airline?
Anyway, do keep in touch.
Lots of love.

What plans are the others who were to go to Japan and diverted to Novosibirsk doing? Are they stranded in Novosibirsk too? Strange! Something must be done or reported.
Love.
